[IT] E’ uscito in Croazia, nel
numero 18 [planb.com.hr, borja.org] della rivista Plan B [site], il 15 di marzo, il mio articolo sui
traduttori non-professionisti in internet, con particolare accento alla
traduzione delle serie TV. Come sottotitolo e’ stato aggiunto, dalla
redazione: “In pochi pensano alla traduzione da parte degli utenti
delle serie e dei film come di qualcosa che connette diverse culture,
ma in alcuni casi e’ proprio cosi’. Abbiamo parlato con traduttori non-professionisti in internet dal mondo e dalla regione.” Per vedere le scansioni

[EN] The issue 18 [planb.com.hr, borja.org] of the
magazine Plan B, of the 15^th of March, published in
Croatia, contains my article about amateur translation on the
Internet, with a particular accent on the translation of the TV
series. As the subtitle it was added, by the redaction: “Few think
of translation by users of series and films as something that
connects different cultures, but in some cases it is exactly like
that. We have spoken to amateur translators from around the world and

prevodiocima na internetu, sa posebnim naglaskom na prevodjenje TV
serija. Kao podnaslov redakcija je dodala: "Malotko razmislja o
korisnickom prijevodu serija i filmova kao necemu sto spaja razlicite
kulture, ali u nekim je slucajevima bas tako. Razgovarali smo s
prevoditeljima amaterima iz svijeta i regije." Za vidjeti

Come spiego nell’articolo stesso, ho scoperto la traduzione in
internet seguendo la rassegna dei film non distribuiti in Italia organizzata (a Milano, La Scheggia – che
fanno spesso eventi interessanti), dal webzine Hideout, e delle
traduzioni si occupava la community online ITASA – Italian Subs Addicted. Ho
parlato con loro, e poi cercato simili storie in rete. Quelli che mi
hanno ispirato di piu’ erano occasioni dove si creavano delle
scorciatoie tra culture, anche se purtroppo gli esempi di traduzione
in inglese da altre lingue sono ancora rari (c’e’ per esempio quella
di Lilia Carone di “Novecento” by Bertolucci [imdb] e “La meglio
gioventu’” [imdb]). Ho scoperto cose interessanti: che c’e’ una fortissima
scena che traduce in arabo sul sito Subscene.com, la serie canadese
“Little Mosque on the Prairie” [imdb], siti come www.next-episode.net, http://www.hispanosubs.com.ar/schedule.php,
motivazioni e benefici della traduzione, per esempio per chi ha
problemi di udito, e piu’ o meno come stanno le cose nella regione
dove si traduce in lingua croata e serba (esempio http://www.divx-titlovi.com/). Ho scritto della TV ai
tempi di internet con Nicola Voltolin che ha scritto la tesi di
laurea su “Lost” (vedi il video della tesi) e paragona le serie al romanzo ottocentesco a puntate – feuilleton [Wikipedia], con Velimir Grgic, che menziona anche il cinema
Coreano e scanlation, ecc., e con vari traduttori, ovviamente.
Concludo l’articolo sperando che le traduzioni ci aiuteranno a
connettere i fili e mettere insieme il puzzle di tutte queste
narrazioni, per capire, insieme, quale e’ questa “isola” sulla
quale siamo capitati.

 

[EN] As I explain in the
article, I have discovered the Internet translation following the
projections of films otherwise not distributed in Italy (in Milan, at
La Scheggia – they often organize interesting events), which were
organized by the webzine Hideout, and the translations were done by
the online community ITASA – Italian Subs Addicted. I talked to them, e then
looked for similar stories online. I was inspired most by the
occasions that created shortcuts between cultures, even though
unfortunately the examples of translations into English from other
languages are still rare (there is for example that by Lilia Carone
of “Novecento” di Bertolucci [imdb] and "The Best of Youth" or “La meglio
gioventu’” [imdb]). I
have discovered interesting things: that there is a very strong scene
that translates into Arabic on the site Subscene.com, the series“Little Mosque on the Prairie” [imdb], the sites like www.next-episode.com
e www.hispanosubs.com.ar,
the motivations and the benefits of translation, for example for
those with hearing problems, and something about the situation in the
region where they translate into Croatian and Serbian (example: http://www.divx-titlovi.com/). I have written
about the TV at the time of the Internet with Nicola Voltolin who has
written his degree thesis about “Lost” (see video here) and compared the series to the 19th century feuilleton [Wikipedia], and with Velimir Grgic,
who also mentions Korean cinema, scanlation, etc, and with various
translators, obviously. I conclude the article hoping that the
translations will help put together the threads and the puzzle of all
these narrations, to understand, together, what is this “island”
in which we have all ended up.

[HR] Kako objasnjavam u clanku,
orkrila sam internetsko prevodjenje prilikom projekcija filmova koji
inace nisu distribuirani u Italiji (u Milanu, u La Scheggia – cesto
organiziraju zanimljiva zbivanja), u organizaciji webzinea Hideout, a
prijevodi su bili rad online zajednice ITASA – Italian Subs Addicted.
Popricala sam s njima, a zatim potrazila slicne price na mrezi.
Inspirirale su me najvise prilike gdje su se stvarale precice medju
kulturama, iako su nazalost primjeri prijevoda na engleski sa drugih
jezika i dalje rijetki (tu je na primjer onaj Lilie Carone za Bertolucciev “Novecento” [imdb] i za “La meglio
gioventu’” [imdb]).
Otkrila sam zanimljive stvari: da postoji vrlo jaka scena
prevoditelja na arapski na stranici Subscene.com, seriju "Mala
dzamija na preriji" (“Little Mosque on the Prairie” [imdb]),
motivacije i koristi prevodjenja, na primjer za ljude sa slusnim
poteskocama, i ponesto o situaciji u regiji gdje se prevodi na
hrvatski i srpski (primjer http://www.divx-titlovi.com/). Pisala sam o TV-u u vrijeme interneta s Nicolom
Voltolinom koji je napisao diplomski rad na temu serije "Lost" (vidi video) i usporedio serije sa romanom u nastavcima u 19. stoljecu – feuilletonom [Wikipedia],
s Velimirom Grgicem koji spominje i korejske filmove i scanlation,
itd., a i sa raznim prevoditeljima, naravno. Zakljucujem clanak
nadajuci se da ce nam prijevodi pomoci da "povezemo konce i
slozimo slagalicu svih tih naracija te shvatimo na kojem smo se to
uopce ‘otoku’ svi skupa zatekli."

il resto, il numero 18 di Plan B parla della fotografia digitale, di
Naoki Urasawa [Wikipedia], delle nanotecnologie, delle idee nel marketing,
artisti (Zlatan Vehabovic merita un post a parte – link blog), film, libri,
fumetti, musica, varie cose 2.0, la cucina e l’ospitalita’ in
Afghanistan e il cibo giapponese, e tante altre cose. M’incuriosisce
la recensione del libro “Cooking with Fernet Branca”
di James Hamilton-Paterson (recensisce Irena Raseta, qui ne parla
anche The Guardian), sono contenta che Tonci Kozul (Ruralna Gorila blog) possa finalmente
raccontarci come la scena house di Zagabria sia migliorata – nel 2008,
ma fa sorridere il titolo "The
Good, The Bad, The Weird" [imdb] del film del
regista coreano Ji-woon Kim, e ancora di piu’ l’utile pagina che
insegna come costruirsi da soli la propria scrivania – evviva il
fai da te e la creativita’.

[EN] As far as the rest, the 18th
issue of Plan B talks of: digital photography, Naoki Urasawa [Wikipedia],
nanotechnologies, marketing ideas, artists (Zlatan Vehabovic deserves
a separate post – link blog), films, books, comics, music, various things 2.0,
the cuisine and hospitality in Afghanistan and Japanese food, and
many other things. I am intrigued by the review of the nook “Cooking
with Fernet Branca” by James Hamilton-Paterson (reviewed by Irena
Raseta, you can also read about it here, in The Guardian), I am happy
that Tonci Kozul (Ruralna Gorila blog) can finally narrate about how much better the Zagreb
house scene is – in 2008, I smile at the title "The
Good, The Bad, The Weird" [imdb] of the movie by the Korean director Ji-woon Kim, and even more
at the page which teaches us to construct our own desks – yeah for
the do it yourself and the creativity.

marketinskim idejama, umjetnicima (Zlatan Vehabovic zasluzuje zaseban
post – link blog), filmovima, knjigama, stripovima, muzici, raznim 2.0 stvarima,
kuhinji i dobrodoslici u Afganistanu, japanskoj hrani, i mnogim
drugim stvarima. Zainteresirala me recenzija knjige "Kuhanje s
Fernet Brancom" iliti “Cooking with Fernet Branca”, autor je
James Hamilton-Paterson (recenzirala Irena Raseta, mozete ovdje
procitati i sto je o tome napisao The Guardian, a ulomak ovdje), sretna sam sto nam
Tonzi Kozul (Ruralna Gorila blog) moze konacno ispricati koliko se zagrebacka house scena
popravila – u 2008. godini, smijesim se radi naslova "The
Good, The Bad, The Weird" [imdb] filma korejskog rezisera Ji-woon Kima, a jos
vise radi stranice koja nas uci kako napraviti vlastiti radni stol –
zivjeli uradi sam duh i kreativnost.
