Le riviste cartacee sono ancora per me
una cosa molto importante, anche con tutto quello che si trova in
rete, o forse a maggior ragione per quello. Per me sono delle mappe
di immaginari sempre in evoluzione ma piu’ tangibili dei blog. Una
buona rivista ti dice tante cose, anche solo a sfogliarla, visivamente e per
il montaggio di contenuti. Si, e’ una questione di prospettive.Ed era proprio il cambio di prospettiva
il tema del numero 14 (sul sito ufficiale, su borja.org) di rivista croata Plan B, uscito nel novembre
2008, e nel quale e’ stato pubblicato il mio articolo “La
pubblicita’ e’ una cosa seria” (scansioni pagine qui, il testo in
croato e le traduzioni in italiano e inglese qua). Per sapere di piu’
del numero stesso, vedere un po’ di altre pagine ancora, e leggere una mia riflessione sull’escapismo e la musica, ispirata da un testo di Tonci Kozul, seguite il

Magazines made of paper are still a
fundamental thing for me, even with all that’s availabile online, or
maybe because of that. Because for me they are like maps of
collective symbolic image inventories (“immaginario”), in
constant evolution but more tangible then blogs. A good magazine
tells you a lot even if we just leaf through it, visually and though
the montage of contents. Yes, it is a question of perspectives.And it’s the change of perspective that
is the theme of the issue number 14 (on the official site, on borja.org) of the Croatian magazine Plan B, published in November 2008, and which contained my article
“Advertising is a serious thing” (you can see the scanned pages
here, the text in Croatian and the translations in Italian and

Papirnati casopisi su za mene jos
uvijek vrlo vazna stvar, cak i svemu tome sto se moze naci na
internetu, ili mozda bas zbog toga. Smatram ih mapama imaginarija, u
stalnom razvoju, ali konkretniji od blogova. Dobar casopis ti
komunicira mnogo toga i ako ga samo prolistamo, vizualno i montazom
sadrzaja. Da, stvar je u perspektivama.I upravo je promjena perspektive tema
14. broja (na sluzbenoj stranici, na borja.org) hrvatskog casopisa Plan B, koji je izasao u studenom
2008., i u kojem je objavljen moj clanak "Oglasavanje je
ozbiljna stvar" (ovdje vidite skanirane stranice, ovdje tekst na
hrvatskom i prijevodi na talijanski i engleski). Ako zelite doznati

Ecco il mio articolo
intitolato “La pubblicita’ e’ una cosa seria” uscito in Croazia
sulla rivista Plan B in novembre del 2008. Il titolo e’ dal libro
omonimo di Michele Rizzi, quale cito nel testo. Il tema del articolo
e’ la campagna “Romania, piacere di conoscerti/Hola, soy Rumano”,
avviata in Italia e in Spagna dal Governo romeno a settembre 2008 per
migliorare la reputazione dei propri cittadini che abitano in questi
paesi.  Il documentario a cui faccio riferimento e’ "Stranieri (si diventa) di Marina Catucci e Daniele Salvini (dell’associazione Filmlif, ne parlero’ prossimamente sul blog). E’ possibile scaricare il testo dell’articolo, in croato, e le traduzioni in
italiano e in inglese (segnalate ogni errore, suggerite
miglioramenti, ho ancora tanto da imparare per quanto riguarda la
traduzione). Per adesso e’ in formato pdf. Le scansioni delle pagine
e il riassunto si trovano in questo precedente post. Fra qualche
giorno descrivero’ piu’ nel dettaglio il Plan B numero 14 (come avevo
gia’ fatto in questo post per il 13), e intanto e’ uscito anche 15 e

Here is my article
entitled “Advertising is a serious thing” that has been published
in Croatia in the magazine Plan B, November of 2008. The title comes
from a Michele Rizzi book of the same name, which I cite in the text.
The article theme is the campaign “Romania, piacere di conoscerti/Hola, soy Rumano”, started in September 2008 in Italy
and Spain, by the Romanian Government, to improve its citizens
reputation in these countries. The documentary I refer to is called "Stranieri (si diventa)", by Marina Catucci and Daniele Salvini (from the association Filmlif, which I shall write more about later, on this blog). It is possible to download the text of my article, in
Croatian, and the translations in Italian and in English (do let me
know if you note any errors or have a suggestion to make, I’ve yet
much to learn when it comes to translating). For now it’s in the pdf
format. The page scans and the summary can be found in this previous
post. In a few days I will describe in a more detailed way the Plan B
number 14 (like I have done in this post for the 13), and in the
meantime the 15 is also out and in a few days the 16 will be as well,

“Oglasavanje je ozbiljna stvar" koji je objavljen u Hrvatskoj
u casopisu Plan B, u studenom 2008. Naslov je isti kao od knjige koju
je napisao Michele Rizzi, koju navodim u tekstu. Tema clanka je
kampanja “Romania, piacere di conoscerti/Hola, soy Rumano”,
pokrenuta u rujnu 2008. u Italiji i Spanjolskoj od strane rumunjske
Vlade, da se popravi reputacija njihovih gradjana u tim zemljama.
Moguce je skinuti tekst na hrvatskom i prijevode na talijanski i na
engleski (javite mi ako nadjete koju gresku ili imate prijedloga,
toliko toga mi je jos za nauciti po pitanju prevodjenja). Za sad su u
pdf formatu. Skanirane stranice i kratki sadrzaj mogu se naci u
prethodnom blog postu. Za koji dan cu detaljnije opisati Plan B broj
14 (kako sam vec ucinila u ovom postu za 13), a u medjuvremenu je

Ink4Riot Gaza etc.

"A dirlo ora mi sento cretino, ma io
pensavo che il checkpoint per entrare a Gaza era tipo una torretta e
una jeep, magari un tavolino e un po’ di soldati. Invece e’ una
costruzione enorme che pare la stazione Termini in mezzo al deserto e
in assetto da guerra.

Le parole sono di Zerocalcare (Ink4Riot). Io e’ da giorni che voglio scrivere qualcosa su Gaza ma non so cosa. Non so come. Come dire che la situazione mi inorridisce. Oggi ho trovato questo fumetto, dal quale e’ tratta anche la citazione che apre questo paragrafo (qui), non so quanto sia
recente, ma fa riflettere.

Those words are by Zerocalcare (Ink4Riot). It’s been days since I’ve wanted to
write something about Gaza, but don’t know what. Don’t know how. To say that the situation horrifies me.
Today I found this comic from which I have taken the citation that opens this paragraph ( can be found here), I don’t know

Te rijeci su od Zerocalcare Ink4Riot. Ja danima zelim napisati nesto o
Gazi, ali ne znam sto. Ne znam kako. Da recem da me situacija uzasava. Danas sam
pronasla ovaj strip iz kojeg je i citat kojim pocinje ovaj pasus (strip je ovdje), ne znam koliko je skorasnji, ali da
razmisljati.

Le
grandi distribuzioni come Re Magi – e’ quanto suggerisce questo
stencil che ho trovato per le strade di Spalato mentre schivavo i
petardi in giro per il centro storico al passaggio tra il ’08 e il
’09, e un altro graffito che ci ricorda della privatizzazione dei
cantieri navali, intorno ai quali la Unione Europea sta esercitando
pesanti pressioni. La scritta suggerisce che “Se ci spariscono i
cantieri navali, vi arrivera’ la Grecia.” Per piu’ info seguite il

The big distributions
like the Three Wise Men – this is a scenario suggested by a stencil
which I’ve found on the streets of Split while I was running away
from the firecrackers as the ’08 turned into the ’09, and another
graffiti which reminds us of the shipyard privatization, around which
the European Union has been building a lot of pressure. The writing
suggests that “If the shipyards dissapear for us, Greece will come

dok sam bjezala od petardi povijesnim centrom na prelasku iz ’08 na
’09., i jos jedan grafit koji nas podsjeca na privatizaciju skverova,
oko kojih Europska Unija radi velike pritiske. Natpis nagovjestava da

Oggi e’ una giornata complessa.
In Italia e’ l’anniversario di una terribile strage e, per altre ragioni, una giornata di
scioperi e proteste, in lista Sexyshock giungono notizie della morte
di Bettie Page (e mi sarebbe stato peggio sentirlo altrove). Tutte
storie lunghe, e oggi non ho tempo per tentare di raccontarle, ne mi
sento capace di una cosa del genere. Io dovrei occuparmi adesso di tutt’altro, ma alla fine torno di nuovo, nella mia mente,
nel 1997 e sfoglio la rivista Arkzin, "No 3 (98/9)"[?]. E per un breve
istante, molto breve, tutto torna. Seguire il collegamento “Continua”

Today is a complicated day. In Italy it
is an anniversary of a terrible [strage], massacre, I wouldn’t know
how to translate the word to convey all the subtext thought that go
through the mind. And then there’s the strikes and the protests, for the reasons unrelated to that, and as
I browse through my Inbox I come across, in the Sexyshock mailing
list, of the news that Bettie Page has died (and it would have been
worse for me to have read it elsewhere). These are very long stories,
and today I don’t have the time to try to tell them, neither do I
feel capable. I should really be doing something else altogether, but
in the end, yet again, my mind goes back to the year 1997 and I find
myself flipping through the pages of Arkzin, "No 3 (98/9)"[?]. And for a
brief moment, a very brief moment, everything comes together. Cllick

je godisnjica jednog uzasnog masakra, ovdje kazu [strage], ne znam
kako to prevesti, ima previse podteksta. Zatim su tu strajkovi,
protesti, potaknuti nekim drugim razlozima, a preko mailing liste Sexyshock mi stize i vijest da je
umrla Bettie Page (a bilo bi mi jos gore da sam to negdje drugo
doznala). Sve su to preduge price da bi imala danas vremena ih
pokusati ispricati, niti se osjecam sposobnom za tako nesto. Trebala
bih se baviti, sada, necim skroz drugim, ali svejedno moje misli opet
lete u 1997. i listam Arkzin,"No 3 (98/9)"[?]. I na jedan kratki trenutak,
sasvim kratki trenutak, stvari kao da imaju nekog smisla. Slijedite

Oggi, in Romania, si
tengono le elezioni [puoi leggerne su Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso].

2 settimane fa e’ uscito
un altro mio articolo, sempre per la rivista croata Plan B, nel numero 14. Il titolo
e’ “Pubblicita’ e’ una cosa seria”, come il libro di Michele
Rizzi [->ADCI] uscito nel 1987 il quale cito nel testo. Il tema e’ la
campagna “Romania, piacere di conoscerti” o “Hola, soy Rumano”,
attivata in Italia e Spagna da parte del governo romeno a settembre [info sul contratto da dgMarket].
Gli aspetti affrontati sono vari. Per il riassunto e le

inglese e il testo integrale in croato saranno aggiunti
successivamente.

2 weeks ago another
article of mine has been published, for the same Croatian magazine Plan B, in the 14th issue. The title is “Advertising is a serius affair”, as is the
title of a book by Michele Rizzi [->ADCI] from 1987 which I cite in the text.
The theme is the campaign “Romania, piacere di conoscerti” and "Hola, soy Rumano", that is “Romania, nice to meet you” and
“Hi, I’m Romanian”, that has been initiated by the Romanian
government in September in Italy and Spain [contract info from dgMarket].

The aspects that I have
chosen to deal with are various. For a summary and the page
scans click “Continua”. The translations in Italian and English
as well as the full text in Croatian will be added later on.

  Danas su u Rumunjskoj izbori.

Prije dvije sedmice sam
objavila jos jedan clanak, za isti hrvatski casopis Plan B, u 14. broju. Naslov je
"Oglasavanje je ozbiljna stvar", kao i naslov knjige koju
je Michele Rizzi [->ADCI] objavio 1987., koju i navodim u tekstu. Tema je
kampanja “Romania, piacere di conoscerti i"Hola, soy Rumano",
tj. “Rumunjska, drago mi je da smo se upoznali” i “Bok, ja sam
Rumunj“, koju je rumunjska vlada pokrenula u rujnu, u Italiji i
Spanjolskoj [informacije o ugovoru od dgMarket-a].

Aspekti koje obradjujem su
razni. Za kratki sadrzaj i

cronaca, riassumerei velocemente i temi di cui parla il numero 13,
nella quale e’ uscito, a pagina 15, il report dal Hackit2008. L’uscita di
stampa (15.10.2008.) trova il paese (Croazia) in un momento un po’ deprimente, con l’insolita
ondata del crimine violento (leggetene in italiano un testo su Osservatorio sui Balcani e sul Caucaso), piu’ la rivista e la sua redazione hanno
avuto diverse difficolta’ anche di loro. L’editoriale riflette
questo, ma ribadisce con la conclusione di voler essere una ventata

[EN] For completeness, I would
some up the themes treated in the 13^th issue, where the
Hackit2008 report hase been published, on page 15. It has gone to print
(15.10.2008.) in a somewhat depressing moment for the country (Croatia), caused by an unusual
wave of violent crime, and the magazine itself has also had various
difficulties. The editorial reflects this, and the response is the
conclusion that it wants to be a breath of optimism in the difficult

bih ukratko teme kojima se bavio 13. broj, u kojem je izasao, na 15.
stranici, izvjestaj sa Hackit-a 2008. Izlazak iz stampe (15.10.2008.) nalazi drzavu (Hrvatska) u
jednom pomalo deprimirajucem trenutku, zbog neuobicajenog vala
nasilnih zlocina (citajte o tome na hrvatskom clanak na portalu Osservatorio sui Balcani e sul Caucaso), a osim toga i sam casopis je imao razlicitih
poteskoca. Urednicin uvodnik odrazava ovo, ali odgovara zakljucivsi
da zele biti “dasak optimizma u teskoj svakodnevnici”. U sadrzaju

[IT] A settembre c’e’ stato l’Hackmeeting italiano, l’incontro autoorganizzato degli “hacker” chiamato anche Hackit, a Palermo, e a ottobre e’ uscito un articolo sul argomento, scritto da me, in Croazia, sulla rivista Plan B. Finalmente l’ho tradotto in italiano e inglese, e posso mettere il tutto sul blog, comprese le scansioni. (Continua per piu’ spiegazioni e le scansioni…)

self-organized Italian Hackmeeting, known also as Hackit, in Palermo, and in October
there has been an article about it, written by me, in Croatia, in
Plan B magazine. I have finally managed to translate it in Italian
and English, so I can publish it on this blog, together with the
